Yule Log

Check out our Instagram highlights to see the boys making this mouth watering Christmas treat! (It’s also dairy free!)

But the recipe was as follows:

For the sponge:

200g self raising flour

200g of dairy free butter

100g of caster sugar

1tsp of baking powder

2 tbsp of cocoa powder

2 eggs

For the buttercream filling and icing:

Okay we literally just bunged a 25g bag of dairy free chocolate buttons (melted), dairy free butter, cocoa power and icing sugar together until it tasted amazing! Just remember you need quite a lot to fill and cover.

Method:

We used a shallow baking tray lined with baking paper to cook the sponge in. After pre-heating the oven to gas mark 4, we baked for approximately 15-20 minutes. Once cooked we left to cool before spreading out our filling. Next we rolled up the sponge very carefully (you can just about see me nearly failing miserably on the video haha). Then we used the rest of the buttercream to spread over the log. Finally we dusted it with icing sugar to make it look like a festive dream. You’re welcome!
