LED plaster tree

This could go under reviews, but as it’s a Christmas make I thought I would stick it here.

I got this make your own LED plaster tree kit from The Range, or should I say the elves did. It came with little paints, one paint brush, a battery powered LED light and some plastic ‘bulbs’ to decorate.

When I get strips of paint like this I separate them and bring them out individually. This stops the colours getting mixed up when painting with little ones, and means you can wait for each layer to dry before starting a new colour.

While the other colours were adequate, I had to use some of our own green paint in order to cover the whole tree. Noah done very well on his own so I helped Tommy.

Once the green was dry we moved on to the other colours. First we painted the baubles, then the tinsel, and finally the star (that was the part Noah was most looking forward to).

Luckily it dried very quickly, as they were quite impatient waiting to put the bulbs on, or should I say in. The bulbs came on sticks that slot into little pre-made wholes, and the LED light just popped straight underneath.

Tah dah, finished. Although they scrimped on the green paint, this was well worth the £2.99. Not only a fun craft for the kids but it also makes a very special ornament for Christmas. This little beauty it taking pride as our table centre piece. You do have to wait until it’s dark to get the full effect though.
