This afternoon we made our own edible Santa hats and they were delicious!
To make them we used shop brought meringue nests, strawberries (quatred), raspberries and clotted cream. For Tommy’s we used yoghurt because of his lactose intolerance, thankfully he can tolerate greek yoghurt and it’s one of his favourite snacks!
We started by taking a meringue nest each, which looks like the trim on Santa’s hat. Next we added the strawberries and raspberries to make a cone shape. I showed the boys what to do first and then they copied.
Once they were high enough we added the clotted cream to look like the bobble on Santa’s hat. Or in Tommy’s case it was greek yoghurt.
The boys done very well making these and required very little help. I think our second attempt looks better than our first, what do you think?
We made them much bigger the second time. As you can see they tasted just as good as they looked, the boys couldn’t wait to get stuck in.
Noah even wore one of his on his head!
